Techniseal launched a new product which extends the life of your roof. Actually, it’s an elastomeric shingle roof coating that can be applied just like paint. The product is available in 4 different colors or in transparent.
Advantages of covering your shingles with Techniseal’s RoofKeeper coating
- Extends the roof’s life: This product is offered with a 10-year warranty. It puts a stop to the drying of the surface, thus making the shingles more resistant. Roof tiles covered with RoofKeeper resist to winds of 150km/hour. This coating is similar to asphalt sealant except the roof tiles stay flexible.
- Makes the surface airtight and waterproof: RoofKeeper is a sealant that allows to avoid decay due to erosion and water infiltration. It’s a very adherent product that seals properly your roof’s porous surface.
- Makes the color homogenous: As we know, the sunrays make a roof’s color lighter. And as the sun is always stronger on one slope, the roof’s color becomes uneven after only a few years. Thus, the roof’s look is greatly increased after we apply this product. RoofKeeper is offered in 4 colors (black, brown, gray and green) to suit all tastes.
- Cost-efficient: It’s so much less expensive to simply apply a protective coating than replacing entirely a leaking roof. In fact, we estimate that the cost of our Roofkeeper product is 5 times cheaper than the cost of replacement of asphalt shingles.
How to apply the coating?
RoofKeeper coating is made of 100% acrylic. This means it can be applied with a roller just like acrylic paint. Obviously, we have to avoid painting under the burning sun and below freezing point. Ideally, we apply the coating in the shadow in spring or fall, and we make sure the temperature is nice enough and the air moisture is not too high so the coat has time to dry before nightfall.
Following the CSST recommendations, our painters are always properly attached with a safety harness when they do maintenance of a roof or any other surface located at heights. We offer painting services, but also repair and maintain dormers, cornices, lintels, and other elements high up, even when the project asks for elevation equipment.
Techniseal also offers products to seal concrete, asphalt and aluminum surfaces. FinDecor’s professional painters know well the products on the market. You have a painting project in mind but are not sure there is a product to paint such a surface? Today, it’s possible to paint almost any material. To learn more, contact our team of house painters.
