In 2009, the Quebec Government has announced that households will be entitled to claim a refundable tax credit for residential renovations.
This credit is for household improvements and renovations such as: interior and exterior painting, bathroom makeovers, drywalling the basement, light fixtures and so forth.
The provincial government will give a refund of 20% of the year-end summation that is above $7,500.00 with a maximum payout of $2,500.00. Learn more about this renovation tax credit from the official press release (offered in French only.)
The FEDERAL government also offers a renovation tax-credit that may be combined with the provincial credit — and that is generally more advantageous.
